Library
- Enable Library
- If unchecked all references to Library Mode are removed from the GUI (Default on).
- Show plot for unwatched items
- Shows plot information for media in the Video Library that is not marked as watched.
- Automatically grab season thumbs
- Gets thumbnails for TV Show seasons in Library Mode, default is on.
- Download actor thumbnails when adding to library
- Gets thumbnails for actors when scanning media.
- Group movies in sets
- Enables movie sets
- Update library on startup
- Checks for new media files on XBMC startup.
- Clean Library...
- This function will perform a number of 'cleanup' tasks on your video database and can be run if you have moved, deleted or renamed files.
- Removes any videos with invalid paths and all information tied to these files.
- Removes all removable media (example: DVD) without checking for existance + all information tied to these files.
- Tip: XBMC puts a video in its database if you change any OSD setting while watching, resume points are also stored there.
- Export Video Library
- Exports the Video Library database to XML files.
- Import Video Library
- Imports a XML file into the Video Library database. If the entry does not exist it is appended.
- If it exists:
- It removes all current info for that entry from the database.
- Inserts the info for that entry from the XML file.

Playback
- Resume from where last stopped
- The option for what to do when playing back a video that has been partially played.
- Video Calibration
- This option opens the window in which you can calibrate your video playback. It offers the ability to adjust
- The overscan of the video - How close to the edges of the screen that the image is displayed
- The positition where subtitles are displayed
- The position of the on screen display
- The pixel ratio - allows you calibrate the aspect ratio at which videos are played back
- Render Method
- Controls the method used by the player to process and display the video, (which is called rendering). See Here for more information on the different options.
- Resolution
- The screen resolution to use for video playback
- Framerate Conversion
- Allows you to play PAL videos at NTSC framerates and vice-versa
- Flicker Filter
- Sets the amount of flicker filter applied while videos are playing. We recommend you keep this as low as possible, and for best possible quality set it to 0. Defaults to 1.
- Soften
- Denotes whether the soften filter is applied during video playback. It is recommended that this is set off for optimal quality. Defaults to off.
- Allowed error in aspect ratio to minimize black bars (%)
- Allow video player to try to fit video to screen by ignoring aspect ratio by a certain amount.
- Default player
- The default player to be used for video playback. Defaults to DVDPlayer
- DVDPlayer full codec support
- By default only a smaller set of the most common codecs is enabled. Select this to support all codecs possible - note it will use up a lot more ram.
- DVDPlayer fast mode for MPEG2/MPEG4/H264
- Allow these codecs to do non spec compliant speedup tricks. May improve performance slightly, but could possibly incur quality loss.
- H264 Skip Loop Filter
- Controls the H264 deblocking filter. Set to Default for the highest quality. For better performance on the Xbox leave at the default of "Skip Non-reference Freames"
File lists
- Clean file and folder names
- Breaks up the filename into tokens, and removes unwanted tokens like release group names, hdtv, xvid, changes periods and underscores to spaces, etc, to get a "clean" name. Only the display name will be altered, this won't make any changes on your hard drive it self. Add own "unwanted tokens" in the <cleanstrings> advancedsetting.

Lets you change how XBMC renders subtitles (not including DVD subtitles)

- Attempts to skip 'unskippable' introductions before DVD menu

- The external DVD program to use - e.g. xboxdash.xbe
