Altering The Back Of The Jewel And Xbox Letter Colours.

May I suggest WD 40 or kerosene, a couple of drops just to fill the dish in the Xbox lid that the Jewel sits in and leave it overnight. In the morning, the Jewel will come straight off as the WD 40 or kerosene melts the glue holding it. I then use the sanding method to remove the paint and for the letter inserts, brake fluid. Leave the brake fluid for about an hour and then use a tooth pick to clean it out. You now have a "clean" jewel with no paint but not "clear". Now is the time to paint the letters your desired colour. Just spray the whole back of the jewel in that colour and allow to dry. Now go back to the "sanding method" to remove all the excess paint from the back of the jewel so "it", but not the letters because they are recessed, goes back to clean. Now polish the "clean" back of the jewel with tooth paste on a clean cloth. We are talking a very small amount of tooth paste here like two match heads worth and using a circular motion, you will be able to polish the jewel crystal clear. It will appear smokey till you clean it with a clean cloth by the way. Now if your going to paint the clear jewel backing a colour and not leaving it clear, paint straight over this. If you want the letter colours to allow light to shine through the letters colour, " like a blue LED under here on white letters makes the white letters glow a purple/ blue colour, you need to stop the back jewel colour from getting in the letter recesses, you use wax to fill the recesses before you paint the back colour and "tooth pick" it out after painting.
