Are you talking of the BeagleBoard or BeagleBoard-xM ? :)
The BeagleBoard doesn't have much more than the RPi performance wise.
It also only have ½ the ram the RPi got.
The BeagleBoard-xM is a lot more powerful. Also its $125+ ( The price of a RPi for each of my TV's :) )

AFAIK the BeagleBoard(-xM) cannot output 1080p, so I'm not sure if we really can compare them.
The only reason why I'm using my RPi on side of my Xbox is for 1080p.
Personally I'm satisfied with the power that my RPi can output, especially at 35$ and if I had to spend more it would be on a Zotac mini-PC or Android set-top box.

The RPi project is a non-profit organization, so the price of the device is pretty much unbeatable by profit corp IMO.

yip i was looking at the BeagleBoard-xM model i have not reaserched a lot into them i was just wondering about them.
i have always wanted a sam440ep or Sam460ex motherboard (being that it is amiga os4 compatable) but sadly there is not really a xbmc solution for it and it is very pricy really:-)
