Ive read a bit about setting HD using the enigma switch and a monster cable. just wonderin will this work if I just use a standard high quality Component cable already with my Xbox?
And if I switch to NTSC and it doesnt work will I be able to switch back or will my screen not be viewable anymore?
Thanks heaps.

yeh but he says here...
and of course you need the official HD component cable to get this to work.
So maybe it wont work if I dont have that cable. I would try it but dont want to end up with a screen that I cant read to change it back if it fails. I guess the cable isnt going to make much diference to that anyway so probably worth a shot.

Some cheap chinese component cables work just as well as the official or monster cables, at worst you'll get an odd colour shift but the screen and menu will still be viewable.Truman wrote:yeh but he says here...

@Truman
I switched mine a few years ago when I got my flat TV in the living, but recently I connected it back (temporarily, didn't switch back to PAL) with the composite / SCART to my old cathode TV and although it looked a bit squashed / unclear it was usable. I think you fear too much, get a cable, the MS one or Monster or whatever brand, and once switched you won't want to go back.

I have an un-official component cable (Dragon I think), works fine.
Getting rarer though!
