So I got one of these SATA-IDE adapter. It worked fine using a 250GB Samsung drive on a Pentium 4 motherboard that only had IDE, but on my Xbox, using a laptop drive (WDC Scorpio Blue 250GB SATA) it sparked and died.
Upon inspection, I found out the APM5523 dual-channel linear regulator was burnt, and also the SMOOTH chip on the drive PCB died.
Anything I can do to it? They're very hard to find here in Romania, at least where I live.
Burnt SATA-IDE adapter. Now what?

eBay or Amazon have tons. Will they not ship there for some odd reason?

I don't have a credit card, and the estimated shipping time puts me off.
Oh well, might as well stick to my 160GB PATA Seagate DB35.3 I guess.
