Hi, I softmodded by Xbox Original a few years ago (2008), and have been using it since. I used it only yesterday, but last night it boots up to the X logo, then screen goes blank. If I have a game in it, the game will run.
Any ideas on what is wrong/ what I could do? Kids are lost without it.
Thanks
Edit:- Sorry, forgot to add that I couldn't get into Error Recovery Mode so I have no debug log.
Faulty XBMC
Re: Faulty XBMC
How did you softmod it? Name of installer/method used?qwerty? wrote:Hi, I softmodded by Xbox Original a few years ago (2008), and have been using it since.
1) Have you tried reseting XBMC to default beside the Error Recovery Mode (using wired controller)?qwerty? wrote: I used it only yesterday, but last night it boots up to the X logo, then screen goes blank. If I have a game in it, the game will run.

2) Can you still load a non-retail disc?
FYI, if your kids insert a 2004 or newer game (i.e Halo 2) and inadvertently enter the Xbox Live option, it could wipe out your softmod depending on your original softmod method above.qwerty? wrote: Any ideas on what is wrong/ what I could do? Kids are lost without it.
Re: Faulty XBMC
Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I don't know the Installer/method. I hot swapped the Cable if that what you mean by method? I still have the CDROM I used, buy don't see anything that tells me what version etc it was. I suppose if I actually could find the way I did it 4 years ago, I could probably do the same again???
Tried debug mode, but doesn't work, either did the reset mode!
I don't have any non retail disks, never used them. I just used it for media playing.
I downloaded the XBMC4XBOX-3.2-STABLE.zip yesterday, but don't know if this is the way to go, and if it is - how to go about it

This hotswapping method below may be similar to what you did a few years ago. Since you still have the original CD, it's worth a tryqwerty? wrote:

You won't be able to update to the latest XBMC4Xbox 3.x until you have a working softmod again. If and when you do, there are a few excellent video tutorials under Guides and Tutorials section http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=14qwerty? wrote: I downloaded the XBMC4XBOX-3.2-STABLE.zip yesterday, but don't know if this is the way to go, and if it is - how to go about it
