There is an option under System>Settings>Appearance>File lists>Allow file renaming and deletion (disabled by default) but it doesn't do anything unfortunately. BTW, the R: drive is hidden under XBMC 9.04.1 r20848. My suggestion is to "Lock file manager" via System>Settings>System>Master lock>Master lock code and settings>Master lock (select Numeric password/Gamepad button combo)>Lock file manager>OK

Actually it should do something, not tried it in a while but it always worked for me. Presuming it's still working it allows you to delete and rename items when browsing through media file lists rather than having to use filemanager. If it's disabled then it just makes it extra safe so kids/wife can't accidentally delete some movies (unless they physically go into filemanager).

I implemented a ShadowC security feature in the last SID release that makes it so the real C can only be accesed via the XBMC Installer disc Im sure that the same could be done with Ndure
