WD caviar green hdd.
My storage drive has decided to go slow to the point where filezilla is giving me an i/o error, luckily almost everything on it is also on my 2tb xbox hdd so i havent lost anything yet. Its less than 2 years old and only even been a 2nd drive for storage only, will give it a format and see what happens. Drive reports as healthy so not sure why all of a sudden its slowing down.

Re: WD caviar green hdd.
Try something like HDD Regenerator.... also a utility for reading the SMART info... might have errors in there that will let you know whats going on... also try a different SATA interface as it could be the controller causing problems...
My advise, if it is the disk... ebay it! and buy a new one... dont trust anything to it!

I put it in another pc using a via sata card and same issue, it would start off ok and then slow right down.Geeba wrote:Try something like HDD Regenerator.... also a utility for reading the SMART info... might have errors in there that will let you know whats going on... also try a different SATA interface as it could be the controller causing problems...
