Hi, can anyone tell me what modchip this is? It`s flashable, only tried a 256 BIOSes atm. X2, IND and Evox all seem to work.
It`s not on a pinheader it is soldered directly to the mobo (v1.1), and has a single green wire link.

Sorry that the photo is a bit out of focus :(

Nope. It's an old cheapmod :)

It works only on 1.0-1.2 consoles I think.

I have similar one in my collection :)

Since it's just a 256kb chip, you might want to consider flashing the TSOP since your console has a 1mb TSOP.

Always a good idea if you want to save the chip for another xbox. Might be alittle tougher to take it off the xbox since it was not a pinheader install but atleast you'd have a spare chip that is pre-flashed, you could save some xbox's with that bad boy.

problem is that chip will only work on a 1.2 to 1.0 cheap mods were patched out with the advent of the 1.3 motherboards because of an adressing issue implemented to bar them.

it has limited use.

I think I`ll leave it on the board it's on, it's working fine :) Last time a mate of mine did the soldering for a TSOP for me, and it worked fine, until I flashed it with a wrong BIOS and F****D it up! My new motto is "If it ain't broke don't mess with it!" lol :D
I have a spare Akira modchip, (with a pin socket) which I might try on the bad TSOP board, but it needs a pinheader soldering to it first. Anyone know where I can buy the pinheaders to fit the Xbox mobos?

You need standard pinheader (with 2,54mm raster), so you can buy it in your local shop with electronic components.

This item description should give you all the info you need.

On a related note, I find it hilarious that the seller in the link wants $19.52 US to ship a tiny product that they're selling for $0.54 US.
