Pls Buzz help me out bro ... everything used to work perfectly ...then suddenly XBMC stared asking for username/password for smb shares ...got around it on Jan's new built ...videos were working perfectly last night...now today ..when I click on the files...nothing happens ..here's the log .. http://pastebin.com/nGmQHprV

This may have to do with your Microsoft W7/8 smb shares. Try the solutions offered in the below thread

Once in A wile i get an Error When i click on WORKGROUP in Jans Build --When that Happens i reboot the pc and Its Back to working/streaming fine Also useing Wndows 7 its worth a try
