OK, so i really screwed it up this time. I got an xbox from a pawn shop for $10 (DVD drive wouldn't read). When I opened it up, I noticed the clock capacitor had started to leak. So, I removed it, and cleaned up the board, and noticed it was a 1.2-1.3 version with a Winbond chip. Ok, so i was smart and flashed x2.4983 with Eurasia. I didn't read the documentation on the boot order, so it worked, but when I tried to upgrade XBMC using the XBMC SVN installer, it wasn't too happy with me. No problem, insert Hexen, recover from there, but I was having a hard time getting it to boot, so I used Slayer's 2.7. Finally I read the BIOS documentation and realized that it is quite different from 4981, so I said lets just flash 4981 from the disc and have things up and running. I thought it would just flash, but it erased the bios first (or tried to)...and got stuck. Oh NO! Windbond is supposed to be flashed with Eurasia! So now, I can turn on the xbox and get errors 6, 8, and 21. I have a working modded xbox, upgraded hard drive, original hard drive, memory cards with 007 saved games, slayers and hexen discs. No desktop, no modchip.
Thanks.
Can I recover from here?

Re: Can I recover from here?
Ooooo, that's a bummer. Honestly the best thing to do would be to get a good cheap modchip and use that to recover the xbox.
Since the TSOP is blank your stuck with using chip unless you are able to get a hold of one of the two(i think) chips that can
allow you to re-flash the TSOP. I would go with a DUOX2 since it's the easiest. This is really your best option to fix this.
It would appear that these nice folks still have them, I've never used this seller so i cant give you any feedback but i'm sure
someone here on the forums has used them. 25$ is alittle steap IMO but these chips are no longer made so get them while you
can.

if you get an error message on the screen the tsop is fine other wise you would get christmas lights.
you would need to hot swap to sort out to sort out the boot order to fix the problem as you say the dvd is bung and not reading correctly.
eurasia will fail and lock up with a dvd it cant read the bios i have had this a few times.
a laser power trim might be in order here.

Re: Can I recover from here?
You can just put the working DVD drive from your old Xbox into the new Xbox (unless the old DVD drive also doesn't work) and use Hexen's Winbond flashing options.

Re: Can I recover from here?
First, Thanks everyone! Ok, so I swapped DVD drives and now when I boot, I see xecuter2 right before I get to the MS Dash where its whining about a dirty disc error...and I'm using 007 now...which is a bit scratched, but it worked to mod it in the first place. What i remember is that 4983 looks for C: avalaunch.xbe then i think it looks for evoxdash.xbe and then finally looks at D:default.xbe...geez how i miss my x2config.ini! Ok so i need to put upgraded HD back in modded xbox, rename evoxdash.xbe to avalaunch and pray.
Re: Can I recover from here?
Thanks everyone!!! I needed that avalaunch.xbe file on the C:drive. Now i'm back in the game! Note to self, stick with good old fashioned v1.0/v1.1
