considerably cheaper than here as that would be £1.12 a litre. doesn't seem that long ago really when it was £0.80 a litre here.. well early / mid 2000s.

Re: How much does gas/petrol cost where you live?
I can remember when it was 80c a litre here for 96 and 45 c a litre for desil my how far we have come.
It is going to get to the point where only the rich will have petrol powered cars and there will be massive developments in lithium-iron and lithium-polimer battery technologies and then it will end up coing cheap as no one will want it.
the problem i see with battery is that you cant just fll up and go 12-15 hrs to charge up and a new set of batterys every 4 years and a limit of 100 or so km per charge.
in nz that would be killer it is 100km just to get to a grocery shop or the bank round trip.

In Poland:
Pb95 ~ 1,85$
Pb98 ~ 1,89$
Diesel ~ 1,82$
It seems cheap, but average payment is 500-800$ per month.

Re: How much does gas/petrol cost where you live?
I remember when it was 60 pence a litre and everyone being 'outraged' when it hit £1.
Everyone still buys it though just the same as always, I do wonder though when it'll hit that point where ordinary people simply can't afford it.
For me the most interesting thing about this thread is how some of you have many types of fuel, here in the UK there's two pumps: Green - unleaded and Black - diesel. There used to be a Red - leaded(presumably synthetic) but they did anyway with that years ago. And a very few places have LPG.
What are all these other fuels?

Re: How much does gas/petrol cost where you live?
The different petrols are low - high octane, low being 91 RON and high 98 RON, with 95 being a mid range octane fuel. When i was living in the UK in the early 90's fuel was 77p ltr and in Oz it was numerically the same at $77c ltr but the exchange rate was 2.5-1 so the 77p was equivalent to $192.5/ltrasbo wrote:I remember when it was 60 pence a litre and everyone being 'outraged' when it hit £1.

Re: How much does gas/petrol cost where you live?
There is 108 pump gas in nz at gull stations also
So we have mainstream 91 96 98 and 108 petrol in nz there is also avgas if you have a permit race licence and you can pick it up from the local aero club but it is $2,70 per litre and is leaded and not legal for road use.
we also have blends of methonol at some stations such as synergy at mobil stations.
lpg is at most stations for filling up bbq bottles as we produce our own natural gas at kupae from ageragrate and shell todd in taranaki 10 min drive
from my house most of the gas gets converted to methonol and ends up in russia.
lpg is quite wide spread in use still here but a lot less common than it was.

Re: How much does gas/petrol cost where you live?
In Israel it's 7.61 ILS ($1.96) a litre for petrol, at least those were the prices last night at my local gas station. In the recent months I've seen prices varying from $1.50 up to $2.20 a litre for petrol. But in November I'm getting myself an electric car here in Israel we have the world’s first integrated electric car network, that makes it more interesting to go electric.
