[SOLVED] XBMC wont load - identify my chip/softmod

Hello. I've installed XBMC into /E/Apps/XBMC but it just freezes when i try to launch it and the front light starts blinking green on the console, all other dashboards work like UnleashX but not XBMC. My Xbox is chipped or softmodded with EvoX 3935 and it's a 1.6, i'm new to all this so tell me if you need any other information to help me. I've tried all versions of XBMC down to 3.2 but none of them go past the splash screen.

Nope, it works and it's closed.

Could it be that the date isn't set correctly?

Is it network connected? try with an without network cable connected, see how it works.

We still need to clarify how was it modded (modchip or softmod) and what BIOS is running (I believe EvoX 3935 is a dashboard app, not the BIOS). Try finding and running BIOSChecker and see what it tells you (ignore the Hexen part from the post for now, run from EvoX). http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... =979#p9001

You do have sufficient space on your E drive for XBMC don't you?. I'm thinking you've loaded XBMC and made it your booting app but the whole XBMC hasn't had enough space on the E drive to take the full download maybe?. You should be able to put an install disc, (HeXEn, Slayers etc), in your machine whether the machine is softmodded or hardmodded and once it boots, check the E drive to see if it is full. You could then set the booting app back to your previous working app to restore the machine so you can then go into it's filemanager and make more space. You should always as good practice boot a new installed app like XBMC, from your working app's filemanager by going to the newly installed XBMC folder, open it, go down to the .xbe file and click on it and this will boot it and then you can check that it is working fine before committing to having it your booting app. If none of this above is applicable and you do have sufficient space on the E drive you may also like to check you only have one folder called XBMC. If you have two, the machine usually won't make it past the splash screen but it is worth checking.

I downloaded and installed BiosChecker 5.0 and ran it, this is what i got back.



I have tried with and without the internet cable. One problem i have with the dvd drive is that it wont close sometimes, but it does play games when i get it closed so i don't see that as a possible problem.

They still sell chips but i don't know if they still sell the chip i have or if i even have a chip since i got the Xbox around 2004, i was always told it was chipped.

I haven't made XBMC my default dash, i'm just launching it from the applications menu and then it freezes, everything else works on the Xbox. I have UnleashX as default. I have 3gb free on /E, 300mb free on /C and i have alot of apps that PSXCare put on there when they modded/chipped it. I have a log here from PSXCare that tells what they did to the Xbox. I think my father bought the Xbox from PSXCare so it came with all that, it had all of it the first time i saw it.

Now i've even tried the developer edge builds and they don't work either, not a single version works for me.

There's no settings folder and there's no advancedsettings file in my XBMC folder. E:\Apps\XBMC\UserData\advancedsettings.xml doesn't exist. There is only profiles.xml, LCD.xml, guisettings.xml and RssFeeds.xml here.

I don't know, i got the Xbox as a christmas present around 2004 and it was chipped or softmodded by this company http://www.psxcare.com/section.php?xSec=4&xPage=1. When i run BIOS CHECKER i just get Unknown on everything. You can follow that link to their site and scroll down and you will see the chips they sell.



As i mentioned before, everything works except XBMC. I've installed UnleashX and some emulators using FTP, even installed a game onto the harddrive with dvd2xbox or w/e it's called and it works great.
