hope i may get some runners from this to do some mods with i have been out of the game for a bit now hopefully some good candidates for some good mods.
i just need to get a swagger of controllers and cords from somewhere.
nice find PJ, for 14$ you got a hell of a deal there. What's the condition of them all?

they are yet to arive, to save costs i have sent them 4 flat pack boxes and courier tickets as i get them at trade price.
ill let you know when they turn up if they are all working i dont have them in my hands yet they were solad as unknown even if they are all bung it is a good lot of spares.
so they turned up at work today and they all had ther screws missing and they all have cash converters stickers on the under side of them.
i have noticed they have mis matched power supplys and missing bits there is three ver 1.4 with a ver 1.6 psu's in them.
one 1.4 with no psu.
one version 1.2 with a 20 gig hdd with aladin chip thas says on the ide cable f*** eprom.
the last two 1.4's but look all intact.
looks like i may just need to swap some power supplys around but ill know this weekend (my mission to fix them all and not make the mrs angry for ignoring her)

Wow that's crazy that all the boards and psu's were mismatched like that. Never seen that but hey atleast you got an Aladin out of it. Take a picture of what it says about the EEPROM, that's pretty funny.

Just be careful not to through to much time at them P.J..I spent 4 hours on a fragging 1.6 today that I won't be getting back. Could of had another 2 going but I chose to get this one going through stubbornness and it still frags just as reliably as it did before I started.
Would have been a better idea just to buy another for $40 and had the job finished in an hour, still that would take all the fun out of it I guess.
PJ i just got the same deal with the lot i bought, it was worthwhile for the 7 x ms controllers, 1 x logitech wireless and 1 x crystal console. Also got 1 duo x2 and 1 that is tsopped and running plus all the power/av cables and luckily 3 have samsung dvd drives. CC stickers on a few with pricetags of $125 .
lol i spent 2 nights so far i installed pin headders in all of them chipped and tsoped them and they all work and boot now apart from one v 1.4.
ther were on closer inspection one v 1.6b and 5 v1.4 and one 1.2 the mother boards were in the wrong cases and all the mother boards only had one or two screws in them.
so i tsop flashed them all with mecheurasia as i did not have a few blank dvd's to use rain coat and dam i wished i used this before it is so easy.
the power supplys were mismatched and one did not have one and bits bung as below:
there was 6 dvd drives 3 were bung causing non booting two were hitachi XX50 drives with the little square 8 pin chip fried on the board one was a thompson and caused the sound to stutter like a skipping cd on the x logo on startup.
one dead hdd causing total shorting of the psu and instant shut down (tvs diodes fried) but the thing that took so long was the fact that the hdd's were all mismatched and i had to try one at a time to figure out which one blonged to which board to unlock them and after that failed i tried sticking them in the pc and run xboxhdm and unlocked them with the default hdd passwords all but one but i just biffed this one.
the one with the chip had a dammaged lcp from a botched solder job or something by fortunate i pressed down on the chip and it booted then flashed the tsop using mecheurasia.
the one that said f***d eprom had a corrupt eprom but i fitted an x3 and it booted past this error and then i restored the eprom it was not blank it had the hdd key in it but it must of been partially over writter or something.
the 1.6 had a non locked hdd from a failed exploit.
the last one did not have a psu so i fitted one and a hdd and it booted and worked but when i rebooted it it came up with no video but every thing else appears to work hdd activity, lan, sound etc... but it only works from cold boot after an hour or so of cooling down (i expect a soldering problem on the focus chip or bga fault on the gpu, but when it does work it works perfectly ( but i would not ues it i might salvage the ram to make a 128mb box this one had a red sticker on the southbridge.
one thing that is annoying is that 7 xboxes and not a single case screw but i saw on lama i can get a set of 6 for $1.5usd unless some one else has a

it actually has f/e on the side of the heatsink and on the transformer on the psu.
Well atleast it was documented, i do the same thing but with a big peice of tape. Sounds like you came out of top and did some good work figuring that all out, i'll be that was kinda fun
If you were closer to me i'd send all 400 million of my xbox screws for some 128MB ram work.
