My setup:
Xbox V1.0
X3 chip with x3.3294 v1-5 bios
Sabrent SATA adapter
2Tb Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 Thailand hard drive
LBA48 bios config is set to "F up to 137GB, G takes rest"
The base format/setup was done by Slayers 2.7, XBMC was copied to the E drive.
I used XB Partitioner 1.3 and split the remaining space to 927.78GB partitions with a 64K cluster size.
Here's the problem I'm having
after formatting with XBP 1.3 when soft-rebooting back to the dashboard everything works great, I can FTP files to the F and G drives and everything looks fine.
however, after I cold reboot, the F and G partitions will appear but the sizing is screwed up. F appears to take 120.5GB and G appears to take 1.69TB, If I try to access ether drive they appear empty.
I can go back to XBP and reformat the F & G partitions and after doing so the partitions will appear correctly and I can again see the files I transferred before and add/remove new files but as soon as I cold reboot it goes back to being screwed up again.
I've wiped the drive completely clean and reinstalled everything from scratch but it doesn't seem to change anything.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Exactly the same 2TB setups I do hardware wise. However you are using a different bios.

I'm thinking your issue is the bios. Try using the M8 bios to suit the 1.0-1.5 machines on the Slayers 2.7 disc and I think your setup will be fine.twistedsymphony wrote:

You won't have to change the BIOS to get it working.
Hold the white button during boot to get to X3 Config Live, and make sure that:
1. Disk Tools > New Hard Drive Upgrade > Use Saved Partition Table = Enabled
Sounds like you already have your BIOS configured for LBA48 Mode F & G partitions since G is working correctly. It will be worth make sure that it's set to "F UPTO 137Gig, G REST".
This happened to me and many others, it's really a pesky little option hidden from sight

Re: Help 2TB Xbox Partitions change after reboot.
both worked...
it took me a while to find my copy of evtool. as soon as I rebooted with M8 the partitions appeared correctly, despite them having been incorrect last time I shut off.
after that I switched back to the banks with the X3 bios, launched config live and found that setting... after that the X3 bios partitions appeared correct as well.
Thanks for all your help

Re: Help 2TB Xbox Partitions change after reboot.
Glad you got it working.
. Personally I'd sell the X3 chip and just TSOP the machine or put in a cheap Aladdin and you'll never have an issue again. With the cash you will get selling the X3 set, you'll have near enough cash to build up another 2TB machine. I found after a month or two playing with the X3 and it's settings, ( I did have 3 X3 sets that I sold by the way), the X3 equipped machines were simply being booted like any standard machine and therefore a total waste unless of coarse you are running them with a display. Totally up to you, just my honest opinion.

Re: Help 2TB Xbox Partitions change after reboot.
eh, I'd rather keep it. it's an interesting piece of history now. I'd love to have a matching Xecuter front panel but doubt that will happen, the last one I saw sell on ebay went for $500
and that was JUST the front panel.
at some point it might be cool to setup an LCD, it was always something I wanted to do back in the day but never had the cash to do it.

You can still mess around with multiple BIOS, and easily switch between them for things like VGA BIOS or Cromwell for Linux.
I have 3 X3CE, two of them with the X3CP and LCD. I consider them nice to have around if only for the purpose of trading for some other 4th Generation chips or other scarce hardware.
I'd like a SmartXX or something else with its own on-chip OS, for example. But I still love the X3CE for a lot of reasons over a TSOP or simple AladdinXT
