hi there,
could it be if you are going to make a softrested with the gamepad ( L+R + Select + Start) and then returing to (in my case) unleashX menu , that the FAN SPEED setting is completly reseted to and not working anymore?
I have set 5x fan speed but If i make a soft reset and then leave the console turned on for about 30min the temperatures rise up to 70° celsius and in normal boot its about 55°... ?!
and also it won't keep the setting if boot a new game from that state. If I do a hardreset everthing seems to be normal
soft reset unleashX = fanspeed reset?!
Re: soft reset unleashX = fanspeed reset?!
Fan speeds when set in dashboards are for only that specific dashboard.
UnleashX is can be tempremental when it comes to setting the fan speed.
If you're softmodded then you can set the global speed via the softmod settings menu, the latter also depends on the softmod. As not all support changing the fan speed.
(modern Softmods do)
If you are hardmodded, ie, chip or TSOP flashed then you need to edit the fan speed in the bios & reflash it to the chip/TSOP.
(if you use X2 5035 or ind-bios, you can just adjust the global speed via there config files stored on the hdd)

Re: soft reset unleashX = fanspeed reset?!
I always figured it was something about how UnleashX is rendered or written that doesn't allow for much idle time. X3 config live is he same way, to name another high temperature application. XBMC is by far the lowest idle temperature of all dashboards
