I am new here but have checked the forum and cannot find an answer to my problem.
About 3 months ago I did a softmod on an old xbox I had sitting around. It is mostly used to play movies for my daughter from an external HD hooked up to my PC. Everything has been working fine. I even found a few plugins that I don't get script errors on.
A couple of nights ago my daughter was watching a movie and everything worked fine. She fell asleep and I did not realize that the xbox was still on until the next morning so I shut it off. That afternoon I turned it on for her and...no audio. There is audio when the splash screen plays at start up but nothing after that. The video works fine but no audio on movies, music, video plugins, etc. There is not even any sounds when scrolling through the menus. I have ruled out an issue with the connection between the xbox and tv since I can still get audio from the splash screen. I have been checking and rechecking settings (which were never changed) but I cannot seem to figure this one out.
Anybody have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: No Audio All of a Sudden
Thanks X. That did the trick. I only use a remote for the xbox so I had to dig out a controller. I have no idea how that could have happened since I did not even have a controller hooked up but it's fixed so I'll leave well enough alone.
Thanks again. I feel a little dumb that the issue was so simple to fix. Really appreciate your help.

You can control the volume from the remote with the 3 and 6 buttons as well.

Thanks AZ. That must be how it happened. One of us must have hit the buttons. I appreciate the info.

Thanks X. Still getting to know this thing and all the new info helps a lot. I'm trying to rev up the xbox so I can shut off my cable so I'm sure I'll see you around the forums. I have lots of newbie questions I'm searching for now.
My daughter just turned 2 and already knows how to the xbox, my phone and just about everything else better then I do. I'm a former network guy and have fallen a bit out of practice. However, she has given me plenty of opportunity to rebuild my home network time and time again. Going to have another one any minute now so I'm sure I will be at the top of game in no time.
Thank you for the welcome and thank both of you for the help.
