Hello,
Rejuvinating my XBMC Xbox for my sister. Haven't used it for a while.
It's running XBMC4Xbox r28472 (compiled Mar 10 2010).
I'm guessing it's worth updating it!
Considering it's so old, am I OK to update it by FTPing into the xbox and overwriting E/Dashboard?
(As per http://www.instructables.com/id/Upgrade ... /?ALLSTEPS)
Is there a better way nowadays?

Don't even think of overwriting XBMC while XBMC is running.asktoby wrote:Hello,

The best way is to FTP across your new XBMC build to the same drive location as your current one but call it XBMC2 by editing on your PC prior to FTPing it. Check it after FTPing it across by going into XBMC filemanager and booting it by opening it then clicking on the .xbe file. See that all is well and then once you are happy with it, boot another app other than XBMC. I use Avalaunch for this myself, go to it's filemanager, find the folder called XBMC, (it will be the one the machine is currently using), and edit it's name to XBMCold. Now go to the recently FTPed folder you called XBMC2 and edit it to just XBMC. You should be now good to go, safely.
