Had a good weekend of collecting

I got really lucky with CraigsList and picked me up 4 Xbox's this weekend, and one was from a European lady, and even had the euro power cord with adapter.
I uploaded a pic of the serial number, what can you guys tell me about it?
I have not installed the Splinter Cell exploit yet (time) and I haven't delved into TSOP yet.
Wondering if I would/might run into any road blocks with modding this?
Thanks guys

One of these I actually bought on eBay and was listed as "broken, for parts". They guy said it booted up but didn't read games.
When i got it the tray would open (common problem I come across). I jammed my smallest Alan wrench in there and popped it open.
Reads disks fine. Just $10 + $15 shipping.

I think that's a 1.6
Good link, yea it does appear to be in the unconfirmed but likely 1.6 territory.
So that's the last model of Xbox, will there be any limitations? I think I remember reading there isn't a TSOP for the 1.6 right?

No tsop, and no 128mb ram mod, according to trusty

Probably a v1.6 looking a the date. But, since it's already been opened why don't you open it and have a look at the video chip - if it says Xcalibur on it,it's a v1.6.
...and it's probably been opened up for a reason. Have a good look around; modchip? different hard disc?

Correct, 1.6 boards lack the locations for the extra ram chips.

Could anyone link me to the 128mb ram mod? I love me some more ram, and Confluence sure could use it too.

XBMC4Xbox currently isn't coded to be able to take advantage of the extra ram. There's actually not a lot of homebrew that does take advantage of it, and I think they're all emulators. There has been talk through the years of sending the devs a 128mb board to work with but I guess it never happened.

I don't quite understand that. I can only compare to a PC, and you can add and remove RAM at will.
Why would XBMC be looking at specific banks within the RAM instead of anywhere in the RAM similar to how a PC works?

Honestly I don't know enough about the coding involved but XBMC4Xbox does currently only take advantage of the standard 64Mb RAM. Maybe Buzz can give you a clearer answer but I know he hasn't got a 128Mb mobo and with him being the only dev I imagine it would be a difficult task to take advantage of 128Mb if you don't have the hardware to test on. I know xphazer has been meaning to send him one - pretty sure it's still on his todo list but I know postage is a bit of a killer from Canada!

Ok so I got to turning on the European one, right after the green plasma splash, i see a team Xecuter 3 logo!
So I shut it off and crack it open and here's what I found. A Duo X2. Now I don't know much about these mod chips, what did I just get myself into?
Oh and I got this with the HD modules, all for $40

The duox 2 is a pretty good chip, it has 2 banks,512kb each, and a switch on the chip. Shame you hat you got your hopes up for an x3 though.

Yea you shoulda seen the look on my face when i saw that X3 icon, and then the look on my face when I saw the DuoX2.
It was kinda like that kid that got a sweater in an Xbox360 box for christmas.

it looks like theres a bit of flux damage on the duox2

but as far as i know, you werent supposed to put a x3 bios on anything but an x3 chip...

Any X3 logo has to be some kind of mod to another bios because X3 bioses only work on X3 chips and even if they worked on non-X3 chips, the X3 bios is 1mb, so it can't fit on a 512kb bank.

I'll snap a pic of what I saw so you guy get a better idea. I've never seen this before, nor any other X3 stuff before, or X stuff at all.
