want to update my org xbox with Xecuter 2.3B Lite modchip

Hi Everyone..
I have an OLD but used probably twice. when bought brand new and had it modded with the Xecuter 2.3B Lite modchip.
I want to bring back to life and mainly use it for XBMC .
Can someone PLEASE help me. What do i have to do get it up and running and upgraded
.
I have a 120g HD i see i have it partition . It has evolutionX V +3921

i saw it has RDtools , Slayer , DVD 2xbox 0.5.4

I think I have the same chip (or maybe I have a 2.6, two banks, X2 5032 bios...) - you could boot EvolutionX, craft and upload an E:\x2config.ini to point to your XBMC4Xbox (e.g. e:apps\xbmc4xbox\default.xbe), e.g. http://home.arcor.de/kokkonator/X2.5035/x2config.ini

For future updates, you can use the XBMC4Xbox Installer program plugin in my signature, that also allows you to update x2config.ini right from within XBMC4Xbox.

Ok, I might not be the best resource at this, I've only modded mine a few years back, if someone else will come along and have an easier method, please take over.

You say it has EvolutionX, it probably boots with that right? Somewhere on the screen or in Settings/Info menu it will show you an IP address, provided you connected the Ethernet cable to your router. From your Windows PC, you can start an FTP client, say Windows Explorer or FileZilla, and navigate to ftp://yourxboxIP and username/password xbox/xbox.

In there you can navigate to E drive and create a folder if doesn't exist called E:\Apps\. Search the forums here for "unofficial builds" (see top-right corner) and get a hold of a build, say 3.3.3 or 3.5BETA 4. Extract it as it is on your PC (it's a zip file, it will probably contain an XBMC folder) and then upload through FTP into what will be effectively E:\Apps\XBMC.

Back into EvolutionX, it might have an "Applications" section, and it might just found XBMC in the new folder, or if possibly after a restart. Launch it from there and see if it runs your new XBMC4Xbox.

Ok, so you have the folder XBMC in your newly created Apps folder?. If so go into that XBMC folder using the filexplorer you have and open the XBMC folder and go down to the file called default .xbe and click on that and confirm your copy of XBMC boots. This will confirm you actually have a good copy. We don't want to set your machine to boot a non working XBMC app now do we?. Have patience, I'm sure you'll end up with your machine booting straight to XBMC but let's get it right 1st time around. Until then you now know how to get XBMC working all be it not direct but it is there for you to try out providing it is working. By the way, don't touch any of your modchip switches, that will not be good playing with them.

Now is your machine booting to EvoXDash ?. You mentioned you see Slayers written somewhere, I'm presuming on the very first screen that comes up on the machine when you boot it up?. Either way it sounds like you HDD was built using the Slayer's disc. Can you burn a copy of Slayers on your PC?.

Burn it to a DVD R- blank disc and when you boot your machine with it in the DVDrive, it should boot. On that disc when it boots on your machine, read through it's list and you will see, " Change Startup Dashboard". Click on that and proceed into that folder until you see Make XBMC My Default dash on "Stock HDD"or something like that a click on that. Don't use the one for large HDD even though you do actually have one or it will go looking in your F drive Apps folder for XBMC. Let it do it's work, about 5 minutes and your machine should now boot directly to XBMC for you. Keep the Slayer's disc, it will come in handy for you in the future.

Search the forums for "unofficial builds" by B4K3D PI (see top-right corner here), and download the latest build available. That comes as a ZIP file, extract on your PC, it will have an XBMC directory in it, then you upload it to your Xbox (which is running EvolutionX) as E:\apps\XBMC.

I updated xbmc . And i Read you have to have xbmc off, but it wont connect to Filezilla. I have to have it on.
so I updated with latest . Now when install the repository I cant get any to work. I was able to get 60mins but it keeps freezeing.

Do anyone have there xbmc working correctly????

Right, ok - there's tutorials out there telling you how to update XBMC4Xbox and that involves exiting XBMC4Xbox and running another dashboard application, like EvolutionX. That way you "update" the files that are normally in use while XBMC4Xbox is running.

There's also the swap method, where with your running XBMC (E:\Apps\XBMC) you transfer the new one under E:\Apps\XBMC.new, then using the File Manager from the old one, navigate to and then run E:\Apps\XBMC.NEW\default.xbe. Now running the "new" one, you can transfer its contents back overwriting the old one in E:\Apps\XBMC using the same file manager, or if you prefer to FTP them up again.

Or, lastly, there's an "easier" way although that requires you to install a shortcut tool or crafting that x2config.ini I mentioned earlier, you can read all about it in its wiki page.

Then, back to whatever problems you might have with your XBMC4Xbox when you gout it up and running, we will require you to post a "debug" log at pastebin.com or similar website. So you turn debugging on, then reproduce the error and upload Q:\xbmc.log to pastebin.com. Most of the relevant information is in that log file so then we'll be able to help you furher.
