Xbox 360 games From hard drive

Recieved a xbox 360 to my mothers over the weekend, its has around a dozen games on the hard drive, but there were no disks, can i still play these or will i still need the originals

Assuming the xbox has not been JTAG'd or RGH'd (hard modded), the you will need the original games.

Just hooked it up now, any reason why i can play dead rising 2 and dead island without the game disk? not sure if you can download the full games from the store or whatever they call it, theres a couple of 'arcade' games that hes downloaded which i can obviously play, its still got the lads gamertag etc (theres 3 different gamertags on there) im guessing if i remove these and add my own ill lose any paid games that are on there?

Have you tried using all of the gamertags to run the games? In theory it should play them, if it does not, I'm out of ideas.

And yes, if you remove the gamertag which purchased the game, then you might as well remove the games. At least that's my understanding.

If someone buys a game from the Xbox marketplace, Dosnt matter who, everyone will have acess to it.

You can still rip games to the hdd without modding but you need the original disc in the drive to play it, you sure i=the games arent demo's or XBLA games ?

Seems the kid who sold it me was trying to pull a fast one, upped the price as apparently it has all these games on the hard drive, yet there pretty much useless as i cant play them without the disk, and worthless as i obvoiusly cant sell them on,
