ldotsfan need help with Slayer's 2.98

mrmajikbus45 has been helping me trying to get a new bigger hard drive in my xbox using Chimp but it hangs after the screen after I pick the Chimp resolution like 720 or 1020i of course i just pick Chimp, anyways so he said try Slayer's 2.98.

So i don't know what to do here:

1. Do I need to copy this DVD ISO file to the current hard drive
2. Or can I do this with the DVD in the DVD drive
3. If I can leave the DVD in the drive then of course do I do #7 first or is there a how to link.

I just need a quick how to so i can upgrade my hard drive to a bigger one.

Oh snap! I forgot about slapping the disc on the HDD itself! Use Qwix to unpack the iso, and FTP it onto your hard drive in the E:\Apps folder! Download qwix, unpack, ftp, reboot xbox, hotswap the DVD drive for the new HDD, and then go to the apps folder and run the slayer program. Then follow my instructions. If you need a step by step on this, I will put up another screenshot presentation.

ok I will unzip the iso and I use filezilla so I need to know do I go right to #7?

I have ftp Slayer into the Xbox hard drive and rebooted unplugged the DVD and plugged new HDD, when I go into slayer and pick #7 the next menu says:

7A) Install Chimp 2.6.18 on any HDD

so I do that then it installs on some hard drive

7B Launch installed Chimp is in red and I can't pick it.

So what is next?

Are you cloning another HDD or building a new one from scratch?. Ow, and what sized HDD are you putting in?.

When I run the program, it just straight boots into Idotfan's program. Your Xbox is fighting tooth and nail it seems. Jerry, we're almost at the point that I suggest you use the XBox HDM program that some of the guys here will point you toward, or for you to get your drive lock key, and ask someone here if they can clone it for you. I would do it for you, but I have no idea where in this big blue marble that you live, and I'm not pretentious enough to ask you to ship it to the US if you're not from here.

We have done everything that I know, and have exhausted my knowledge. I do not have a true tower PC, so I cannot help you out with Xbox HDM, as I just have a lowly netbook that doesn't even have a damn DVD burner, lol. much less than an IDE HDD. All SATA here. See if anyone is near enough that could help you/do it for you. If I'm close enough, I will do it for free with you eating the shipping of course.

Maybe I am confused here or the eBay 250gig HDDis bad, but when I unpacked Slayer FTP it the Apps in the xbox ran Slayer #7 it installed a different Chimp so now under Apps I have another Chimp should I try that?

I am in Los Angeles do I take the xbox to a repair shop and ask to clone the hard drive, who knows what they charge for something so easy/stupid to this, realty it shouldn't be so hard!!!

Try the different chimp. Can't hurt. I also wouldn't take it to a repair shop, as those guys don't understand how modding an xbox is usually.
