What mod is this?

I acquired this xbox while in Iraq, 3 years or so ago. Turned it on today and it has been modded, but I cannot figure out with what, exactly. It has a game and videos on it, and one screen with Enigmah NTSC - PAL choice. Does this impy the Enigmah chip? Also where do I find the Software info, so I know where to start with upgrading it further?

That is probably Enigmah Video Mode selector, it's an application to switch to NTSC to allow for HD resolutions (softmoded or hardmoded):

It loaded to a video but I got it back to default dashboard. I see now I have XBMC 1.1.0 (Y)
Now I have to scour the forums on how to upgrade.

You should try to figure out how it is moded first (softmod / modchip / tsop) and where things are located, and don't change anything until you have more info. Do come back though, I'm sure in the meantime people will read your post and try to help (might want to rename your thread to "How to upgrade from XBMC 1.1

Check out how much free Ram this thing has left, 47mB. Haven't seen that much in years actually but it is only running PAL composite but that indicates another potential problem, the temperature that machine is running at when set at 20% fan setting. May I suggest you clean out that fan, heatsinks and grills when you open it up checking on what chip it is running. Just to give you some idea, my machines running 720p component with 20% fan setting would have the GPU and CPU temps around 10c cooler than your machine is. Looks like you bios is usable though featuring F and G drive considering even if you never use G drive, you may wish to one day boast the size of your HDD that will require the G drive. To check out a new build you can FTP one into the HDD at any location that doesn't have a folder called XBMC already, (you can't have two folders called the exact same name like XBMC in any location or you will have dramas), open the folder and hit the .xbe file to activate the new build and test it out. It won't become you booting XBMC until you move it to the correct location you bios is saying to boot either directly or via a shortcut but at-least you can give it a "test drive". Don't try using any of your old "userdata from your old XBMC, it is miles to old and will definitely require redoing. Looking forward to seeing what chip your machine is using. When the XBMC build version is this old, any chip is possible.

Looks like @ V1.6 Motherboard, no sign of tsop or chip...unless I'm missing something this is just a softmod, now its time to look into FTP and upgrades.

Not much loose dust but some caked on film/dust. It was tossed to the dump in Baquba (lazy overpaid young soldiers just bought a new one instead of cleaning it out), back in 2009, and sat around in storage until this weekend. I picked up a 360 the same way, and my kids are still playing it. I'll be back in Kuwait next year, so I think I'll bring this with me. Now to figure out what to add...

To confirm your mod you need to open the C/Defaukt.xbe with a text editor. Krayzie, Kingroach, DJB and myself all set up our XBEs differently but used NKPatcher so to truly ID the mod you need to ID the compiler. Example Krayzie didnt enable HD and SD in his XBEs, you can see this in a text editor. If HD is enabled you know its not a Krayzie mod. Kingroach used E for system files which again can be seen with a text editor. DJB added a SID line which is viewable in text editor. I added SHadow C security which (I know getting old) can be seen with a text editor. Those are the main points by which to differentiate the various NKP mods. Older mods like PBL UDE can also be specified via text editor viewing of the xbe.

can someone help me out, i try to set my xbox to 420p 720p or 1080i but when running my dahs boards it looks like this

could it be my tv does not support hd, it does have the red blue and green inputs when i hook it up it works but i want to set it to 720p but when tring to turn this on in xbmc4xbox it crashs the xbox and i have to turn off and b ack on.

can some one help me out and comfirm my xbox or dash board needs an update, im not sure what it could be.

i read somewhere that xbox can go hd on tvs as slong as it has the red blue and green cabels, i might be wrong

RCA truflat 221nch red blue green inputs i use hd cables in unleash x it runs 1080i , no xbmc

If it's a tube TV you probably wont get 480p or 720p out of it. Only thing i could think of to test that would be to hook it up to another TV (hi-def if possible) and see what you get then.

i think your right, and ill take you word for it, my best thing to do is buy a new hdtv, i use to run it on my old tv but i hink this tv is older with no support of nothing, my other tv stop working which did run 420p :<, i might just go down to buy a hdtv right after xmas or ask my wife to get me one for xmas

, this tv anyways sucks the power button turns off and on like if evil was inside it makes some strange noise, i have turn it off by press menu but then the volume turns down, when i got it the first trouble was that, then the volume turns down by its self, so i guess going through all this and fixing might as well just buy a hdtv something that will run 720p atleast

i didnt think it was the xbox/ or xbox settings.

you know what is funny i get 1080i in unleash x but thats it lol i guess its some glitch or the tv is funk up lol
