Unlocked HDD in a Hard Modded Xbox

Hi Guys,

I have a friend who has recently soft modded their Xbox and is looking to install a larger HDD and add CoinOps.

If they were to email me the EEPROM could I burn a disk with xboxhdm to build them a new HDD, leave the new HDD unlocked and put it in a hard modded Xbox then FTP CoinOps onto the Xbox and then once everything is loaded finally lock the HDD with xboxhdm?

I don't have a hard modded Xbox at the moment hence all the questions, but I am looking around for one

Is it literally a case of putting the unlocked HDD in the hard modded Xbox, will it recognize it automatically will I need to do anything? Sorry for all the questions lol

You can prepare harddrive in hard modded Xbox, it's easier than xboxhdm. Just put a HeXEn disc, it will format drive, then choose option *3.5.4. New Disk, PAL Xbox (Passcode=AYBX).

Locking also could be done in hard modded console. Run chimp2168, then send eeprom via ftp to "tmp" folder (login: root, password: xbox), than select locking option in menu.

First start chimp2168, configure network connection (if you use router and DHCP, it's already configured). Then connect to FTP, and you will see "tmp" folder. It's visible only when chimp2168 is running!

If you aren't expierenced with FTP, just use xboxhdm for HDD locking, it seems you have worked with this software before
