PS4 v XBOX ONE

Post by Redneck9 »

Personally I'd take the PS4. PS4 is cheaper and has 7/8GB of ram allocated for games. XBOX ONE however only has 5/8GB of ram allocated for games. Then there are the shady XBOX ONE user agreements... The nice thing about the modern consoles ps3,360,ps4,ONE is firmware. All BD discs will play on modern consoles, and streaming media services will always get updates. Who wants to throw down $230 for a blu-ray player that will be a brick 2 years after purchase? Then we need to worry about hardware reliability. Will the consoles crap out a week after you get them home?

Does XBOX ONE need all those extra features?(facebook, twitter and such) IT doesn't even ship with extenders so people can have multiple TVs streeming from the ONE in other rooms. Which would have been a better selling point than a lousy kinect. Say one person is watching netflix on the tv where the console is and another person playing an XBOX game in the bedroom. As far as the 360 ONE style cosmetic upgrade goes, couldn't they have found a way to throw a blu-ray player inside? Really? Then there is the 24 hour login; little kids play video games often times which really don't need the internet often times.

Playstation claims they will have backwards compatibility via cloud. Yet they don't even ship with an intagrated ps1 emulator. Perhaps that's to attract to subscribers to their new cloud gaming service. They also claimed vita and psp would remote play the ps3 which never happened. I think playstation needs to concentrate their focus more on the family, they have a wide range of children's games yet their PS3 interface is incredibly difficult to master. Currently the best option for kids on PS3 is the game autolaunch option. Playstaion should have a master account interface and a simple interface which showcases custom box selection windows, that would make it easier for little kids to navigate. On PS3 the user doesn't even have the option to change the text color which in some cases makes it almost impossible to read their home menu.
