*EDIT* Item has been sold now, thanks for the interest
Hi all,
I've been a long time lurker on this site and whilst I still regularly use XBMC, have decided to finally shift a couple of xboxes I've had sat doing nothing.
Firstly I have a black xbox 1.6 with an X3 chip & X3CP and stock hard drive. Pictures are in the link below (hopefully these are viewable!):
* link removed *
The dvd drive is a Samsung model and can play games fine although is temperamental to eject the tray out. The case is in ok condition with no cracks but the top of the case does not seem to sit as low down as it should (I notice this with another X3CP so maybe it's due to the front panel?). Additionally, the front fascia of the dvd drive that says 'xbox' is damaged and does not clip tight onto the dvd tray although it doesnt fall off when the drive is ejected/in normal use etc..
The LCD screen works but as you can see in the pictures, the right hand side of the top 2 lines of text do not correctly show up the right letters. I tried this LCD screen with another X3 chip and the problem still persisted, so it is an issue with the LCD. I'm guessing if you can find the right size HD44780 lcd and are good with a soldering iron, you might be able to replace the screen.
*Edit* thanks to professor_johny the LCD works perfectly now - see the additional pictures in the link above
Included in the sale is an offical HD AV pack with cables, a large duke controller and smaller controller. I also found a brand new xbox microphone headset which I can chuck in but do not have part that wraps around your head or the memory card adapter sorry.
Pricewise I'm looking for £75 plus postage. I live in Coventry UK and would be happy for local pickup - I would probably prefer this option due to having no reputation on this site and letting you see what you're buying. I've seen some people set up a quick listing on eBay to make the sale for buyer protection and would also be open to doing something along those lines.
Secondly, I have a v1.2 xbox in the green translucent case (see link above). This does not work however and when powered up, has the flashing red, green and orange lights. I'm not after any money for this but would prefer to pass this onto somebody then binning it.
I've tried being as honest as possible with the description, if you have any questions then please feel free to ask.
Cheers
Dan

Re: XBOX 1.6 with X3 & CP and broken 1.2 xbox
Not the slightest bit interested in an X3 chipped box myself but I will yell you how to fix that case. The case was pulled apart and the steel RF shield surround wasn't reinstalled around the face of the DVD tray when it was put back together and that allows the DVD tray to go in further than it should. You can fix it by gettomg one in there or space it with something similar. As for the display digits missing, hold the display in you hand while it is powered up and lightly touch the leads that go to the HD44780 until you see the digits coming back on and solder the point the trace, lead is broken. Usually it is the connector pins soldered to the back of the display board and you can prove this by pushing the connector while it is powered up and by inspecting the back of the connector pins for cracked solder joints. Hope this helps the current or future owner.

the screen wont be dammaged the little bendy hooks that hold the screen to the circuit board will just need bending down towards the circuit board to add more pressure to the coductive matt, I have seen this problem many of times.

Thanks for the replies guys, it'd be good to get the lcd screen working properly as I had wrote it off.
I'll let any new owner look into this as I'd probably make things worse(!) If it doesnt sell though it's definitely worth looking into.

Hi there, thanks for your suggestion, the curiosity got the better of me and after gently pushing the screen down it worked perfectly - I can't believe I spent months trying to find a replacement LCD when I was using that xbox! I bent the tab slightly as you said and all the text is showing.
Cheers
