Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
As of r31747 Confluence Lite has been made the default skin.
I have also reduced some font sizes in r31746 to fix some issues with overflowing text (and misaligned backspace button on ip address dialog).
Would appreciate any testing from anyone using PAL/NTSC/PAL16x9/NTSC16x9 resolutions - so we can fix issues with things like fonts being too small, or too large and overflowing. Of course, sometimes A font may seem to small, but has to be so everything fits, so it's really trying to find the best compromise.
Thanks.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
I'll give it a bash! - Working from home tomorrow so hopefully will have some time if my boss leaves me alone.. need to get some info to xbs too...
Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
I am using an SD and so far love the skin. Fonts appear to be a great size. When I was using Confluence, I had to tweak the font size so I could see the words. Is there something specific you want us to check for? I use it every day.
Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
I'll report back anything I notice as I play around with the beta.
I have COAX, RCA, S-Video and Composite connections with a variety of TVs for connecting. So far, however, I've not really noticed much in the way of issues. In all honesty, the "Soften" and "Flicker Filter" have had more impact than anything I've noticed wrong in ConLite so far.
I'll keep a watchful eye as I do the rounds and get all these boxes running the new beta.
Thank you kind BuZz!

just cases where text doesn't fit right, or is unreadable etc. there was a case I fixed as mentioned where a button was misplaced due to non fitting text.Ailyn Zel wrote:Is there something specific you want us to check for? I use it every day.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Switched back to PAL and had a flick round.... looks fine to me.... Only thing I've noticed on Beta 3.3 is the movies seem to take longer to launch?
... maybe

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
I agree that movies do seem to take long to launch from the library but are very quick from the files. However, I havenot compared against other skins. I will try this tonight.Geeba wrote:Switched back to PAL and had a flick round.... looks fine to me.... Only thing I've noticed on Beta 3.3 is the movies seem to take longer to launch?... maybe

Thanxx Buzz. I will look through it tonight and report back on my thoughts.BuZz wrote:just cases where text doesn't fit right, or is unreadable etc. there was a case I fixed as mentioned where a button was misplaced due to non fitting text.Ailyn Zel wrote:Is there something specific you want us to check for? Hi Buzz,
Well, I won't lie. Although I have not seen any problems so far, I honestly can say I am not a fan. The previous version with the bigger font is so much better on my eyes. Any way you can have both since there is a fonts section? I know I would appreciate it. I am using a 36" SD TV. Bigger fonts better for me.

which fonts, which text ? I need specific details, rather than "I prefer the old version"Ailyn Zel wrote:Hi Buzz,

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Understood Buzz. Is there an easy way to check on the skin version? Reason I ask is that I am using an early version then what has been added to recent releases. Recent releases do not seem to have the Wide Icon view for TV library.
As for which font, I am talking about almost all of them. It seemed like every viewable font was a size or three smaller than the one I use. Here is the skin: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/285 ... 0Lite2.zip

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
are you able to provide some screenshots with an example?
Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Yes, I can try that tonight. At work right now. I assume you mean for the fonts and not the view correct?BuZz wrote:are you able to provide some screenshots with an example?
No worries, though, I will get a bunch of screen shots for you.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Just to clarified a point before anyone get confused: Make sure you are comparing to the original Confluance Light skin. (ie: not from Jans build)
I cannot be 100% sure but i remember seeing a moded version of Confluence Light with modded big fonts floating arround...
Make sure you are not comparing the new modifications to this. Thanks

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Good point. Unfortunately, I honestly do not recall where I obtained it. I do not think it was from Jans build. I thought it was a direct download from a posting. Do you have an earlier version to compare against or should I just download an earlier build. Either way, my next few posts will compare some screen shots.Xphazer wrote:Just to clarified a point before anyone get confused: Make sure you are comparing to the original Confluance Light skin. Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Here are some screenshots comparing the version I am using (sorry, honestly not sure where I obtained it) to the new/latest version. The top image will be the newer version for comparison against what I am using in the bottom image.
View options list and and list in background is smaller in the new version. Time and page info is the same. Just noticed, probably should update the Confluence image.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Path title at top left of screen is smaller as is the show listing. With smaller show listing, number of episodes is available. Not as important to me but something to notice in this view. Show description and info under banner is same size.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
Upper left title as well as majority of screen is smaller in new version.

Re: Help with testing Confluence Lite on SD resolutions
that is a minor font difference really - and for me, the smaller size is correct and the larger wrong, as when it was larger, other places that used that fontsize had overflowing text.
I really don't want this discussion to go into the realms of user preference for larger fonts - it's more about when fonts don't fit etc. I am really only concerned right now about bugs due to overly large fonts, or places where there might be an unreadable font which I don't think is the case in this instance.

Oh ok, sorry if I was overdoing it then, just trying to be thorough. I will keep a look out.BuZz wrote:that is a minor font difference really - and for me, the smaller size is correct and the larger wrong, as when it was larger, other places that used that fontsize had overflowing text.

May I ask how you are changing the size? That way I can keep using the newest version of the skin but modify the size for my personal preference.
