YouTube 3.4.4 - Does it work??

can someone help?
despite my repeated efforts I can't get youtube to work

I am using XBMC4XBOX-31744 nightly.
I used in built installer on the new clean build & downloaded the latest youtube (think its 3.4.4) - install seemed slick & good - but youtube refuses to boot.
I tried my own working xbmc4xbox build & still a boot error in the plugin - debug log here:

use the youtube addon from addons4xbox repo. you cant install youtube from xbmc frodo.

thanks buzz - you kinda... pointed me in the right direction
somehow my version of the addons4xbox repo didnt have the xbmc4xbox addons section. kozz's thread http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... ?f=7&t=897 made me realise soemthing was wrong in my build?
I thought mine was a recent one?? heres what I saw:

Anyway it's booted & I did played one of whufclees vids & it worked great - now to get this sorted on my son's XBOX & so he can watch his scrapheap challenge shows

you probably installed over an older version, and had older userdata cached for the installer, so it didn't pick up the new repository.

Does anyone know how to change the plugin so it streams the 240p flv by default instead of setting quality to ask?(maybe know how to change "the trailers" to get 240 flv too)

I'd rather not have to set youtube to quality ask(For some reason xbox usually crashes h.264 via wi-fi bridge)

Isn't it in the plugin settings (context menu)? Fairly sure there should be a section which allows you to choose what maximum quality you want to stream.

There are the following video quality options in the context menu: Ask,1080p,720p and SD only. When selecting "ask quality" and upon choosing a video, an option screen appears asking to choose a resolution. letting me choose from 1080p, 720p,480p,380p,360p,240p & 144p. (240p and 144p being in FLV format with all others in h.264)

Just wanted to know if there is a way to tweek it and make 240p the default resolution?

The "SD only" option always seems to do the trick for me on xbox. You don't really want to try and stream anything in 720p on xbox but anything less than that usually plays pretty well in my experience.

SD only works well for me during low traffic hours ie:3am-11am. Won't get bandwidth at all on the weekends.(will almost always work with lan connection)


It's just a bandwidth problem. If I can't do a quick user end tweek I'm fine.

I'd imagine Jan would be the one to ask if you want to change the actual code so it plays low quality files. Good luck.

It plays them, just not by default.
