Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi
Nice spot mate, although I've had no problems with the 256mb RAM the 512MB would be nice. Might be time for me to sell the ones I have to friends so I can upgrade
Out of curiosity xbs, I've had a little play with the latest raspbmc build and noticed there's an option in the settings for Normal/Fast/Super. I'm guessing these are pre-configured overclocking settings or something - can you shed any more light on it before I go hunting around the web trying to find answers? I'm going to try out Super and see what's so super about it

Yes, those are pre-configured presets and Raspbmc uses "static" OC meaning is always at the speed you selected unless you select custom OC (or something like that can't remember now), this should enable dynamic OC (force_turbo=0) meaning that the OC only kicks in when needed, something like the Android CPU governors, and warranty isn't void by OV.
The blog I've posted earlier has info about the preset turbo settings.
This is also helpfull

Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi
Yep, finally got mine from RS after a huge long wait (I first went onto their pre-order system in March!!!!). By way of compesation I did get a 512 meg versionxbs wrote:Model B now ships with 512MB of RAM

I've tried Openelec and Raspbmc. From my perspective Raspbmc gives a better UE, so I'm sticking with it.
Overall, very impressive - both the Pi and the distro.
I've velcroed it to the back of the (1080p) 22" LCD in the kitchen and powered it directly off the telly's USB connector. Brilliant

...only slightly disappointing thing is the 30~40s boot time (somewhat influenced by the old SD card I used).

Ooooh. I haven't found that, where is it? (I have found "Advanced overclocking" options the in Programs -> Raspbmc Settings -> System Config -> Advanced System Settings.... which give you a set of great slider controls for all the main overclocking options.)whufclee wrote:I've had a little play with the latest raspbmc build and noticed there's an option in the settings for Normal/Fast/Super. Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi
I finally spent some time on the PI, and as a result of my work, I spent some time playing "Batty" (which is an excellent game!)

I have one of these bluetooth keyboards - although not used it with the pi yet. used it on linux ok though already etc. as it's bluetooth it requires some setup unlike the wireless ones that work out of the box.

Never argue with an idiot! First he brings you down to his level, then he beats you with experience.

Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi
Hope you get it soon Ludvig, I'm so impressed with the OpenElec build that I'm going to put in an order for a few more units tomorrow morning. Just need to find a decent remote, I tried to solder a usb lead to the old xbox DVD dongle but made a mess of it so I'm going to see if I can find a suitable one on ebay. I remember reading there's a basic remote that costs about £3.50 on ebay and the USB dongle works out of the box with the xbox remotes, I have a few xbox remotes so that might be a perfect solution.
