Re: Case Mods Showcase
Thanks guys,
I did find a gamepad and did the same, its a fast simple paint job that looks almost stock.
Little or no chance of making a hash of it as long as you clean it well and strip it right down. If you own
a crystal its a must in my book now, some great spray colours around too, just be light on the controller
as runs can be a problem around the sticks and buttons. Hoping to see some alternative colours posted!
liquid sugar soap - £1.66 or so at Toolstation or £1 at Poundland
Bright white spray paint £5.95 Toolstation
Your time and effort ?

Re: Case Mods Showcase
Nice looking machine. I love any other colour scheme other than stock black. My problem is I never know when to stop. A machine I started a couple of months ago still isn't finished because what started out as just a paint job in my son's football club's colours has now ballooned out into a full blown modded machine with just about every mod I have ever done and a few new ones.

Re: Case Mods Showcase
It's an old doodle I made while bored in class during my senior year in highschool, I don't draw often but tbh when I do some twisted things come out, now that I think about it, kinda looks like my crush at the time LOL
oh here's full sized, I don't have it anymore, my pup ate it (literally)

Re: Case Mods Showcase
Here's a recent custom job I did. They wanted a turquoise/silver color scheme, jewel mod+lights, DVD cutout, power LED swap, and 250GB HDD upgrade.

Electrical tape later replaced with heatshrink. In retrospect, it was unnecessary to spend so long painting parts of the drive/caddy you'll never see but it was fun so it wasn't a loss.

I re-used a case I painted a while back because it was in great condition

Re: Case Mods Showcase
Thank you! I really liked how it came out too. The deep grey/silver picks up light in a really cool way and the brightness of the blue contrasts it all really well. I was super fastidious about the masking job and then did several coats of paint on each piece. Took about a week from start to finish and it was a fun one.PhobosDevourer wrote:This is so freaking good.GoTeamScotch wrote:Here's a recent custom job I did. Re: Case Mods Showcase
Did a power/eject LED mod and controller port LEDs to my crystal xbox last evening. Thought it came out looking pretty sharp! This is the first crystal Xbox I've ever owned and seen modded in real life. The front power LED flooding so much of the front panel was a nice surprise. It doesn't look too bright in real life.

The green light in the back is from the SATA - IDE adapter. 500GB HDD installed.

I filled the space inside with hot glue afterwards to hold the LED in place and prevent electrical shorts.
