I tend to put a drill through mine and throw them in the recycling box
10G 5400rpm drive I don't personally think is worth spending time on... you can get a flash drive larger than that for £5

I thought it would be a easy job. Wish I had unlocked it before the trade of the mobo.

Clay target shooting with hard drives.
Never was able to unlock a locked HDD myself and I must have tried the thousands of ways that there are. So all is not lost. If you have a shotgun you can enjoy watching it blow that locked HDD into 1000s of pieces. On the serious side, there was a UK based company that had good recommendations but it was hard to justify the $75 on a HDD to get them to magically unlock it over the internet.
