Start from scratch

Post by Kenshin »

This is my idea, given the fact that my version has a lot of issues.
I just didn't want to lose my user content, including my library.
I don't know if that is possible because I've been experiencing bugs and occasional crashes, some plugins are not working anymore, some others are doubled, some buttons are not visible and I think it might be related with older installs mixed with new ones.I can't update it online, even though I've tried to do that several times so far.
Can you guys provide me help on this task with a step-by-step tutorial?
I'd like to have the ultimate version running on my old xbox,to make the best of it.
I saw some of whuflee tutorials on youtube and have download the 3.1 version, the xbox addon installer and .modules

Thanks in advance.

what i do is copy a new build into the xbox along side where the current one is i then select the new build in the filemanager and run it then from there rename the old build to something else then run the old build from the file manager in the new build.

at this point rename the new build to the same folder name of the original so it will boot up on startup.

then you can reboot and copy across the content you need from the user data directory and plugins directory.

Jan'sEnglishXBMC4XBOX V2.1 would be a great start as it has a lot of scripts addded in known to be working available here:

Hi professor_jonny!

Thanks for your help.I really appreciate it.
I'll follow your advice by installing a second build and testing it.
If everything works fine,I'll replace little by little the old build.
