Hello all, I wonder if you could help me.
I have a v1.4 xbox that I have successfully applied a winbond TSOP flash to.
Everything is good and the machine boots up with the Evo X logo in the top left corner.
Should it now be possible to boot it up with the Hexen disk in the drive and no hdd attached?
Or boot it up with larger empty hdd attached and then format it through Hexen?
Because whenever I try I get the error code 13 or 14.
Thanks.

You should be able to just boot hexen with the new hdd installed but that will depend on what hdd and what sata adapter (if you are using a sata hdd) you have.
Sent from my android coz apple is for pie.

check your jumper on your hdd and also check the ide cable or replace it.

I think it might be a problem with the sata>ide adapter I am using, as I am trying to boot with a sata hdd (three different ones).
Have ordered some other types and will see how it goes.
Cheers.

Received the new sata-ide converters (with master/slave jumpers) and it still doesn't work, with any of the three hard drives I try.
As the Xbox has been tsop modded it should be able to boot up with the hexen disc in and the new HDD attached, but it doesn't.
Grrr, stupid thing.

Re: TSOP hard drive upgade
If you have a HDD the machine won't boot with, put in a HDD it will like a stock HDD and boot up Hexen with that setup then "hotswap" the HDD it has trouble with. This process works a treat with Slayer's, I can only imagine it will work with Hexen. Once the machine has booted all the HDD testing the Xbox performs is finished. Now you have the machine booted with the install disc booted, hopefully it will now allow you to navigate. If it does, your in and free to use the install disc to do with the new HDD you require. Just make sure you set everything up you require with the install disc before rebooting the machine. Good luck.
