Building my new PC.

Post by Xphazer »

Finally building a new PC for my self very soon.. I thought that it would be a good idea to share with you guys what i have in mind for the past few weeks.
1st.. Intel & Nvidia fanboy here... AMD and ATI are not even an option.. I have not much respect for AMD CPU's.. and ATI.. well, you can keep it ^^. I'm a linux user.
Dont start a price war please.. This is a local store.. Local pick-up, Local exchange if there is any trouble :).. And actually prices are not too bad for where i live.

I'd go for the fractal design define r3 case :-) im very happy with mine but the only problem is that you need to get right angle sata and power connectors as they can fowl the side of the case behind the hdd's.

That machine will be a screamer for sure, any idea on how far you could clock that CPU?

Oupps.. Better late than never.
I got the machine since only a week or 2 after i created this thread. And whorst, these are old pictures.
Going to get a GFX card and some BitFenix Alchemy cable extensions for everything to organise that mess sometime soon.
I hope that I will be able to get the window side panel for my Arc Midi.
I will also need to RMA my PSU to Corsair, as there is a little bird in it. ^^ (fan noise)

Beside all that, this machine is already a beast.

DIGGING the white drive cages and slot covers going on.
And those chrome looking big shoes.

Looks dope.

<Thread jack for a sec>
This is my server box paint at the mo...
I've got more than 1 colour going on inside the case as well. Colour matched to the blue gigabyte mobo socket colour. Did it by eye. BANG ON. I'm crap at colour matching. Painting WIN!

Don't even look at the dirty cabling. I've gone and done it proper like now. Well, routered, splitloomed and cabled tied. This was the test fit for power cable lengths and my old mobo before I got a couple of things working in a minimal headless on my new mobo.

Pic doesn't do it justice, Black looks about 6 feet deep in person. That light looking reflection. That's the room Ceiling... 5 feet away.
Blue pops right out the case like a jack in the box on meth.

Dulux Cobra Automotive liquid awesome applied with an electrostatic grav gun. We've beaten that electrostatic charge painting process like it owes me money since I first discovered it, EVERYTHING gets painted with the battery now. I SWEAR it makes a difference. There is no way I could dump black deep enough to eat your first born whole before I starting charging the paint.

Sanding? Bugger all. Lay the colour on thick, It's charged so it sticks thicker. 1200 w&d, 2k clear, 2000 w&d, clear, green scotch pad, crc cutting compound, 3m buffing compound, armor all and a mircofibre cloth. You can eat your dinner off it. And it has that new car smell :)
</Thread Jack, That was longer than a second>
