Xenium Chip, 1.6 XBOX, X2 5035 bios and XBMC

Post by MikeH »

Is anyone currently running XBMC as the main dash on their 1.6 XBOX with a Xenium chip with OS 2.0.1?
If so what bios are you using? Also do you have an upgraded HDD (1TB or 2TB)?
I have been trying to get XBMC to work on my xbox, but only EVO boots.. I am unable to get any apps to work with evo also. I am currently using bios x2 5035 but it only boots Evo. I have tried X2 Config Maker to change the boot order, but it also didn’t work on my xbox. If anyone has dealt with this issue and can give me some pointers. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

When you used X2_config maker make sure it's FTP'ing the config file to E and make sure the boot order lists XBMC first then EVOX second. If it continues to boot to EVOX you'll have to double check where XBMC is on the xbox and make sure the config file is pointing to that.

As an alternative you can use the XBMC shortcut file to accomplish the same thing.

Tried the shourtcut but still no go.. Will only boot to evo dash. Evo doesn't even start XBMC as an app... Goes right bak to the main evo screen.

Start fresh and re-upload XBMC. Since it boots to EVOX you should have FTP access. If you have XBMC all setup be sure to back up your Userdata folder first. Best to delete the existing XBMC and start fresh. I bet that might get you going.

Good looking out BKO ;)

Yeah my apologies, I could have said that better. Did you already setup XBMC all pretty and what not? By that I mean have you set all your sources like Games, Emulators, Scanned for Movies and music? If so then it would be wise to back up the Udata folder in XBMC, this contains all of those settings and paths that you have set already. If you have not done this then no problem, just delete the old XBMC and re-upload a fresh build, I recommend Jan's builds since they are packed with all the goodies.
