build r31290+ testing

Post by BuZz »

Please give build r31290 or later a go - There are extensive changes to the vfs file cache, and dvdplayer. I removed the delay when playing a video, so id be interested if anyone notices much a/v desync at the start (which was what it was there to help).

Our dvdplayer is much closer to xbmc's now, and skipping forward/back should be much quicker. I have also updated ffmpeg to 0.10.4 version to match xbmc mainline.

you can see the latest changes to the code from the repository browser http://redmine.exotica.org.uk/projects/ ... /revisions

Thanks again i have look on the changes what you make and think the filecache and Fmpeg updates since very important changes on the nightly.
I make my new JansGermanXBMC4XBOX with your nightly build!
I Hope my German Friends donate again for xbmc4xbox and you give with the next changes a dual lib rtmp.dll

Thanks for your continue works on the sources and for the new website!

worth noting there may be some issues, so i wouldnt necessarily recommend it for daily use unless you/users are happy to fix stuff later if need be.

Hoping to get some time to test over the next few days :-) I can't believe the amount of code your getting done ! Truly staggering! I read on the XBMC page on Facebook that the Android and other code is making the old Xbox even leaner! :-) awesome work Buzz! :D

Name the test build xbmc2 and launch it from xbmc's file manager.

hey buzz, I can't seem to find a source to check out any builds except for stable and 31650. Is there a way to check out earlier builds? I've actually had pretty good results with 31600 (650 isn't working very well). Anyway, I'd like to test a couple in between but again don't know where to check out

@byron
Ask B4K3D PI for whatever build you want, he might make it available for you.

I appreciate it dan, but I figured out how to change revisions with tortise...it's really easy (and pretty slick how it works). I really need to become acclimated with SVN

Hey, long time user of XBMC4XBOX here. First time poster.

I have been using XBMC for xbox since 2005 and have avidly followed its incredible progress. I stopped using XBMC when the site had disappeared and the builds weren't working as well. I've just got back into installing it and the improvements and performance has tremendously improved. Great job! I would like to thank all the current devs for all the effort and hard work they've put into XBMC4XBOX and it's addons!

Now the main reason I am posting in this thread is not to hijack it with thanks, but more so to point out a small bug that I've discovered. I believe the bug is related to the build and not the skin as I've tried using more than one skin to reproduce the error. The bug is when you go to video plugins and try to alter the actual plugin's settings the dialog shows up blank with "0?0" on the top right of the dialog. I will note I am using a development build and as such I do not expect things to be perfect but thought that it should have some attention. Currently using build r31650.

Another bug I've run into is when accessing the web server through firefox, I can see everything on the page however it is impossible to click on anything or do anything. It's as if its just a picture of the webui without any functionality. However, when using chrome the webui is functional. Using firefox V18.0.

I hope that this information can help progress xbmc4xbox even further.

EDIT: I`ve also come up with an idea for the WebUI. There should be a way to `free type` so that one can actually type into xbmc instead of navigating through the keyboard keys. Just an idea.
