No internet connection

now im not getting no internet connection through my xbox even when i have it wired with ethernet straight to the back of the router ...i had a connection all this time and now nothing the rss feed at the bottom does not even scroll anymore.....im not sure should it be on static or dhcp or autp dashboard...

ok i took the ethernet cord out of the back of the xbox and blowed air into where the plug goes plugged it back in and its working....so im thinking there is dust in there or the port on the xbox could be going bad ......

dashboard = IP address set through MS dashboard
DHCP = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_Ho ... n_Protocol, dynamically allocated by your router, may change each time
static = you set manually all IP address components, can get from say from your PC, the IP has to be unique though on the network (its last number)

why do you think when the cord moves alittle it loses connection on back of xbox......or if i take it out and put it back in it shows ip every now and then...

The easiest I guess is to try another cable if you got one around, or simply reverse it. If the plug, I'd leave that to more knowleadable people, or maybe look at this: http://www.ehow.com/how_6067596_fix-eth ... x-360.html
