I had a need to build another slim flat top that I've been building for a long time but now have decided to finish it. Not really much info as I'm designing it as I go.

Steve, i reckon the lid needs some kind of a design on it to give it a lift - maybe a slick paint job ?

Ow that is just the lid after I filed it to fit. No board inside, no power supply, no front panel, it literally is just the case with the lid fitted for sizing. As I build it I'll add more progress pics.
I hope to get the DX remote working on this machine and a few other new things I have been working on and the lid will be painted by the way. It will definitely have one of your USB mods in the control port to. I love that mod and have been slowly retro fitting moded ones in all my machines.

I'm going to give away one of my upcoming idea's but i reckon a perspex/acrylic X on the lid would look cool

Well now I feel I owe you one of my upcoming ideas. I have noticed the 360 On / Off in the middle of the 360 controllers are "exactly" the same size as the normal Xbox On / Off button.

Re: Plum Crazy. A new flat top clock.
First coat and now I need to wait a week for it to cure so I can sand it for another coat. I did paint it a couple of days ago so 1 or 2 more days should do then a sand down with 1200 grit paper wet and it should be ready for another coat.

As you can see, one coat and you get a patchy finish and it is "sandy" with all the metal in the paint. The front panel was painted 3 times to get it's deep finish and smooth to touch like this.....

Yep nice but instead of fans , you really don't need them, how about speakers for the alarm / startup feature so it has internal speakers rather than externals like I've been using?. The extra height created by the intakes will allow larger speakers. If I move the sata HDD, the speakers can hang down deeper into the unused HDD caddy and by moving the HDD also in the DVD caddy the HDD sits in now so some nice speakers rather than shit 20mm ones so some decent sound.

I have one of these that I bought for decent speakers. Note the treble, bass and super bass controls as well as volume. Just like what is needed to control sounds out of an Xbox aye...

Notice the 2.5mm input for Ipods or anything really.

@Kozz- Ram Air you say, you wouldnt happen to be an Owner/Fan or the T/A's would you now? I like the Ram Air idea but more like the Cobra from Knight Rider. They would be pretty good cooling ducts.
@Xman, paint looks really really good. I like that color too. I cant wait to see what it looks like after wet sanding and second coat.

LOL nah never owned an T/A but that is where I got the idea from, but I thought I'd play on the 128mb ram-air thing, Oh I do like that single intake too, what about a cowl induction version ?
