games help
so i add a folder to my f drive called Games and add iso games to it and made a source on my xbox to my programs and when i open up games folder under programs there is nthing there how would i fix this?
Re: games help
Sure it does, if you are using nkpatcher (most softmods), Evox M8 or IND-5003.MrMajst3r wrote:Xbox will not play ISO files.
You have to extract ISO (with Qwix, or C-Xbox Tool).
As I said, copy attach.xbe from driveimageutils to the same folder as the ISO and rename it default.xbe. Each ISO must be in it's own folder, and you might want to add a default.tbn as well.
This was discussed in the "Xbox General Knowledge.......Q and A" answer #12 here.
Re: games help
Download driveimageutils from the link I provided and extract it.
Find the file named attach.xbe and rename it default.xbe.
Copy default.xbe and the ISO into a folder, and put that in your games folder.
Pro tip:
The games will all be named attach.xbe, use xbe renamer to give them proper names.
The games will not display icons unless you include an icon named default.tbn.
Or you can do as MrMajst3r said, and use Qwix, or C-Xbox Tool to extract them. This is what most do.

Re: games help
Another thing I never knew, I didn't know you could play xbox ISOs
Does it affect the frame rate at all?

Re: games help
I've kept most of my games as ISOs for a few years and I've never noticed any issues with frame rate.whufclee wrote:Another thing I never knew, I didn't know you could play xbox ISOsDoes it affect the frame rate at all?
Re: games help
I just did some very unscientific testing with a stop watch.r3dsk1n wrote:This is news to me as well!
I wonder which loads faster?
Started the watch as soon as I hit "A" to launch the game (Halo).
Stopped the watch as soon as I had button input.
Margin of error: + or - 1 second.
From HDD: 8.5 seconds.
From ISO: 8.5 seconds.
From Pre-mounted ISO: 8 seconds.
So, no real difference.
I started using ISOs when there was a game that couldn't be patched to play from the HDD (I think TOCA ?).
Now I keep them as ISOs for the network transfer speeds. I have a couple boxes with small HDDs.
Re: games help
This ISO playback feature is also news to me. How do you mean "network transfer speeds"? Faster game transfers from PC>Xbox?Spongy wrote: Now I keep them as ISOs for the network transfer speeds. I have a couple boxes with small HDDs.

Re: games help
Presumably he means as it's only one file that's transferring opposed to thousands of little ones you will get the maximum transfer rate available on your network. I'm very glad this thread appeared as my next project is to get an xbox modded with a large hdd and fill it up with games

Re: games help
I keep my Xbox games as xISO's as well but I load them up into Qwix and batch FTP them over to Avalaunch (into folders) using Boost Mode. I have yet found a faster method than Qwix/Ava combo.
