How can I change main dashboard to unleashX instead of XBMC?

Post by bshi02 »

Hello.

I have softmoded xbox on which I did softmod approximately 15 years ago and It automatically goes to XBMC,But Now I want to upgrade its HDD without Hotswapping,So I tried to follow below youtube tutorial.

https://youtu.be/WUotVpZpzDk?si=24AyvWDilvdqyn23

But I noticed that I need to access real C partition and copy it to HDD in order to make bootable and locked HDD.

So I downloaded "Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc" from below google drive link and burn it to dvd-r media.

But whenever xbox read this dvd-r It shows a message that said "Retail 4817 Bios Detected", and then it goes to a black screen forever..

So I want to manually change main dashboard to unleashX in order to execute NKpatcher setting.

But How can I change main dashboard to unleashX instead of XBMC?

Not sure why you need to get rid of XBMC.

If you used Rocky5's updated Chimp 261812 cloning tool could, reasonably easily, just attach the new HDD as 'slave' and clone your existing 'master' HDD to the, presumably, larger one you want to use.

All will be exactly the same except your extended partition(s) would have more capacity. The only extra thing you'd need to do is make sure the larger extended partition(s) are formatted correctly. Chimp will do that but its best to use the Xbox app XBPartitioner v1.3 to check and if required change the partitioning arrangement.

To use Chimp 261812 you'll need a molex power splitter so you can run both HDDs at the same time. Also, if the existing HDD is IDE and the new one is SATA, you'll have the extra cost of an IDE > SATA adapter* and a 24"/60cm 80 wire IDE cable.

* the IDE > SATA adapters out there are notoriously variable in quality. The go to is the StarTech one but the cost is double the generic, usually, Chinese manufactured type. The important thing is that it must have a Master/Slave jumper selector.
