Upgrading XBMC

Hello All,

I have looked on the wiki, but the installing/upgrading link is just a stub.
I have an XBOX1 with a pretty old XBMC installed (1.0.4817.1), Its time i updated it for a number of reasons.
1.) i cant use games for windows live on my pc if i want the xbox to be able to access my pc, i heard this is fixed in the newer xbmc
2.) I would like to be able to stream stuff onto the xbox from streaming video websites and my current version cant do that anymore for some reason...

So my question is, how do i update it to the most recent version? can i just drop and drag the files into E/Dashboard/ ? I read that you should not be in the dashboard when upgrading. I dont have any other dash boards installed, is it possible to boot it to the original xbox system menu?

Download unleashx, FTP it to E/Apps, run it by clicking on the default.xbe in xbmc file manager. FTP your new build across into a directory called XBMC2. Switch xbox off. Restart. Run the new build by going to xbmc2/default.xbe in file manager. Check it boots okay. If it does then go back to unleashx. Connect via FTP again - delete the xbmc directory and then rename xbmc2 to xbmc. Switch off. Switch on. Done.

It's not the only way, but it's foolproof.

1 quick question: where can i get unleashX? i cant seem to find the unleashx files, this website says its not taking registrations ( http://www.smdepot.net/forum/index.php?action=register)
and the link from wikipoedia goes to a non existant page, and i cant seem to find a download link on the scenyx forums....

Grab XBMC Installer 3.2.2. Just burn it to disc and pop it in. Use its filemanager to delete the old XBMC then click install XBMC. All done.

I don't know anything about this so I'm guessing it's something to do with the xbox360, I use GFW and don't have any problems with the old xbox connecting to all my PC shares. With upgrading, yeah do like the others say (I use trogggys method) - if you want to see a video tutorial on exactly how it's done there's one I made in the "tutorial" section, it's called something like "update via FTP".
