suitable ram for upgrading xbox ram to 128mb?

Post by bshi02 »

I have known that K4D263238M-QC50 or QC40 is default ram chip built-in on xbox.
BUT Is there any other ram chip which can be used for upgrading, too?
for example, K4D263238f-QC50 or 40 (which is a built-in ram of xbox 1.6 version) ,or HY5DU283222Q-5(it is said that It is same specification with K4D263238M series) is OK for upgrading ram capacity to 128mb?
I have xbox version 1.1 and I have plan to hunt down old geforce 2,3,4 graphic card which has a built-in sutable ram and desoldering it for upgrading my xboxs ram capacity.
I'm sorry for my weird English and any reply would be helpful.

As far as using chips from from other Xboxes go, any Samsung chips will be ok. Hynix chips won't work; I think I remember reading that they have different timings. I forgot if 1.6 has Samsung or Hynix, but 1.6b has Hynix. I'm not sure about using chips from other sources though.
