Help: Removing Tray Bezel for Case Mod

Post by Redneck9 »

What is the trick for removing the Stock DVD tray Cover?

Is there a video?

I'm doing a UV mod BTW.

I'll post a pick on the "Case Mod Showcase" thread when it's done.

Errr, I'm guessing he means the top, not the front. So you can see the disc spinning.

There should be 2 screws that hold the top of the DVD drive in place. These screws might be hidden under stickers, might not be though.

He was right, I meant the bezel.

I was thinking the light from the UV LED might make the drive go haywire.

Blacking out the DVD casing made sense, so I did that as well as the hdd labeling.

So now when I look inside of my XBOX it's solid black, which should help the new uv active wiring to stand out better.

Did you get the bezel off in the end? You just pull the bottom of it towards you slightly so it unclips and then slide up (or at least I'm fairly sure that's how you do it, might slide down).

I'm still awaiting the parcel's arrival.

I've decided not to heatshrink the IDE cable to keep it form tearing.

I busted the edge of the case(Forgot to heat shrink something) when I took the front off, the corner broke. Still looks pretty good.

Should probably put uv led's around the entire circle because light won't reach the front.

Put multimillion underneath the hard disk, which looks awesome.

I decided to leave the Original Xbox Bezel however, It goes better with the solid black DVD housing and solid black HDD.
