[Resolved] HDD upgrade (softmod) Chimp not displaying

Any working alternative to Chimp?

I'm only softmodded, can I run "XboxHDPrepar utility", then while running an evoX dash dvd, swap out the hdd, and ftp the old files over to the new hdd from my pc?

When I launch chimp my tv display says "not supported", and so does my pc monitor. I'm using component (hd) cables. I don't have a tv with a composite (yellow wire) plug to be able to see the Chimp menu. :/

Also, I'm using a sata-to-ide adapter on the (new and compatible) sata 200gb hdd. I hope I won't run into more trouble cause of the adapter. (It does have master & slave jumper, but my computer is all sata, no ide.)

I'm fairly sure if you plug the composite video cable into the green component input you will get a crappy black and white fuzzy image which you can temporarily use to see chimps menu. Not something you want to spend any time looking at, but you should be able to get the job done without a composite input screen.

I read that I'd need to flash my bios to use a hdd above 137gb (mine is 200gb), will I need to do that? I'm softmodded, no idea how to do that properly.

Softmods support 2tb HDD's, so no you don't need to flash the bios.

Also chimp is the best option for softmodded systems.
