I have been running this for a month now and I am really loving it. I just wanted to thank you for all the work you put in this. Also, you definitely have an eye for design, the color choices you made and icons look amazing.

On a side note: Do you happen to know of a "pack" of all USA, or any region for that matter, 2D front cover for the default.tbn? I find downloads of 3D covers but not just a front cover. I did come across some stuff that http://www.emuxtras.net/ was doing but not sure if that ever advanced to a finished/complete database.

Thoughts?

Right now I have been just downloading the covers and resizing them and renaming them, but that has come to be really time consuming and I was hoping there was a joint effort to get them.

I have been doing some covers myself, so a joint effort to do all xbox covers should be possible. We just have to find a way do do it. Where should the covers be hosted etc...?

I can do a shared folder on Google Drive if that will work. I have mine on an external at work and will have access to it on Monday. What size have you been doing yours? I am doing mine at 300 x 444

It's actually been a while since I last played with making covers for the old box. But I should be able to check it Monday. I believe everything they are on my work laptop. I think I made them the same size as Rocky5's

Hey guys ..Love the look of this skin for the kids...Only trouble is...not exactly sure of the install steps....I have looked at the steps posted by Rocky...I am a little confused by

Setup:
1) Download XBMC.- Done no problem

2) Place the Build/XBMC folder in the XBMC4Kids (Games) folder.- What is the BUILD/XBMC he is referring to. So I have to make a XBMC4KIDS folder ?

3) Double click Create Kids Gaming XBMC.bat.- so I place the the xbmc4kids files where? then click the bat file

4) FTP the XBMC4Kids folder anywhere on your Xbox. - referring to the xbmc4kids(games) folder that I downloaded and unzipped to..correct?

I am probably over thinking this but just want to make sure before I mess things up...ty in advance

I know the first bit which is click on XBMC.bat , you do this on your computer first then ftp this across to the Xbox .

5 simple steps.

1) download XBMC4Kids
2) download XBMC
3) extract XBMC & XBMC4Kids
4) place the XBMC folder (you extracted) inside the XBMC4Kids (Games) folder.
5) run Build XBMC4Kids.bat & transfer the XBMC4Kids that was created to your Xbox.

Note, this is meant to be used as your main dashboard & for dedicated Xboxs. If you use this as an app you will end up with multiple save directories & if you don't know what your doing get confused

(If you want to use it as an app, just delete the Profiles.py located in the XBMC4Kids\scripts\ folder)

On your video, at about 8 and a half minutes, the games folder is loading, but i deleted the Profiles.py and that doesn't happen. How do you add the game folder?

When making your profile did you copy the sources from the master profile?
(dvd2xbox, if you select start fresh, you will need to add the sources manually)

In the new version, I have fixed this (I just copy the sources file to the new profile directory) I can send you it when I get home, though that may it be till tomorrow evening.

Glad you got it sorted, I put the new version in my 2016 Softmodding Tool Extras Disc, so if you want it you can download it from my sig.

If not I will update the front page in the next few days.

On a side note, how are you finding it?
(I know it's snowing all the time on the login screen

fixed that in the new version)

Fixed the snow not disabling after a set date. (due to XBMC not liking includes with visible System.Date(***,***) tags)
Added a nice new Fanart View.
Added the option to toggle the txt overlay for the new fanart view.
Added a new option for fanart, you can now cycle through 75% opacity or 0% opacity or disabled.
Added a custom keyboard layout for entering Hex colour strings. (custom background colours)
Fixed Favourites from highlighting thin air when navigating left on the thumbs.
Now have in place the _resource structure from XBMC Origins, so packs for that will work with this skin. (Toggled)
Added a nice new Thumb View.
XML tiding.
Profiles.py script updated with better logging & rescuedash copying added.
Added a dialogue to the Clear Cache.py script.
Added a special easter login screen overlay.
Updated the Snow effect for Christmas.
There is more than likely more changes, but cant remember lol

How does this look? toying with button icons instead of the scrolling txt.
(the buttons are grouplisted, so they shift about to use the space)

Also added a preview video window.

I like it. Something about the icons that is just easier to quickly understand, if you know what I mean. Also love the video preview.

Thank you, that's what I was thinking. You can see what's there at a glance, also the button info bar is currently in edit mode, when user mode is enabled some are hidden, or different.

Forgot to add the video to the previous post so will do it here.

if anyone want to test the latest build give me a hawller, changed how a few things are done & also updated the profiles.py so now it can be toggled instead of removing it to use this as an application. Also updated the look of the login screen & menus as well as added preview video support. There are also other changes, stability & speed as two examples.

Changed the PlayerControls screen, looks a lot better & matches the other dialogues.
Added a toggle for the visualisation bars in the PlayerControls screen.
Fixed the background images not setting when login into a profile.
Removed the "FilezillaFix.py" (its in the not used folder)
Updated the Profiles.py, now copies the source.xml to a new profile so no more issues with sources not being there and also it bypass the "DVD2Xbox" & "Manage Profiles" profiles.
Also added ^ a new master profile, "Manage Profiles", this allows you to add remove profiles & adjust UI & network.
Fixed the Keyboard not working when outside the Games list.
Added a Preview video function (X button when no audio is playing)
Added a custom preview extension option in the settings. (Handy if you don't have xmv files)
Updated the DVD Label & Spinning Disc, now displays throughout the skin.
Updated the Settings look.
Added a new fancy GUI buttons that display functions in the menus. (Dynamic)
New graphics for the buttons. (created from scratch)
Updated the Keymaps & "FileZilla Server.xml"
New startup.xml, looks like the login screen to create a more seamless transition to the games directory.
Added a toggle for the Profiles.py script, you can now enable it skin side (located in the "Manage Profiles Profile > Manage Profiles")
Improved the stability of the skin/python scripts and optimized other areas.
Changed the View Options (Up when in the games section) to be more streamlined.
Added my resources view, that I use for testing _resources packs. (requires "game name/_resources/artwork/image files here")
Redone a few textures. ^
Updated the DialogProgress.xml
Added a Synosis overlay for games ( (X) Button )
Updated Skin settings look.
Added a Preview Video Settings, you can select from common extensions or add your own.
Added a new script, "CleanMyVideos34.db.py" removes bookmarks from preview videos.
Added a new script, that reads a file named default.xml in the _Resources folder.
Added a new script & option in the Skin settings menu to Clean the thumbnails.
Added a new View BannerView, it will load banner.jpg from the "_resources\artwork" folder.
Updated the synopsis script, & synopsis section in the skin as well.
How video playback when in the synopsis screen has changed also, you now Press (A) to playback and stop the preview video.
Added a a Control layout overlay when in the login screen. (press Down)
New SettingProfile.xml layout.

I have added quite a lot to it, new view updated scripts new scripts & a crap load more.
