Problem with Western Digital WD2002FYPS 2 TB hard drive

Hi,

I got a Western Digital WD2002FYPS 2 TB / WD RE-4 SATA drive I am trying to install into a softmodded XBOX.

- It cloned ok.
- I am able to lock it using Chimp 2618

It boots up to error 09. I am trying to boot Slayer to see if I can rebuild the hard drive, but I can't get past this error 09.

I then tried to unlock the drive. I can boot into CHIMP 2618 and I don't see FATX. I can go to ADVANCED and unlock the hard drive. CHIMP stated it unlocked fine, but the drive really did not get unlocked. It stayed in locked state since my PC now sees it as locked hard drive.

I put the LINUXCFG file from CHIMP on my root E:, I was able to boot up and CHIMP and see FATX. I am trying to see if I can get into CHIMP and try to use the unlock SLAVE drive option to try to unlock it again since I can at least use it on my PC. It is stuck on the first page of CHIMP boot screen and not proceeding.

Questions:

1. Is this drive compatible with softmodded XBOX? It does lock.

2. How do I get rid of Error 09?

3. Is there anyway to unlock it if CHIMP is not working?

4. Is there a way to unlock all locked original XBOX drives on a PC without the original XBOX?

I havent used this drive on a softmod myself but reading up about it, its from the WD Green family
which I have had issues with. I`ll guess it aint locked and can`t be even if Chimp says it is or has been.
Its a new type 4 platter drive be it 5400rpm for business use. Have you changed the jumper to cable select
whilst chimp is running ( hot swap)and remove jumper altogether when rebooting after locking. Play around with
jumper first before writing off drive to pc. Sorry I cant help much more, Ive been in the same position with
a hybrid drive, swapped it out for one in my pc. Seagates seem to be the most user friendly for me.

When I did the upgrade with my WD Green 1 TB i had a huge amount of heartache. WD green drives spool up slower then normal drives and causes the xbox to throw a fit. My best luck was fooling with the jumper and using CHIMP. I got it to work and I still have to use the DVD drive trick to slow the boot process so the drive has time to spool up before the xbox checks it. I have faith you can get it to work.
