V1.6b with X3 chip problem

Hi, picked up a 1.6b with a X3 chip installed. Boots up to Xbox dash fine, but cannot get the chip to run. :(
Has the 5V led on but nothing else, checked all the connections, they seem fine. No leds on the external adaptor. :(

Okay, so I sorted it, not sure how :) I have a 1.6a with a X2.6, so I swapped the motherboards and power units. Now all the leds work and boots the chip. The X2.6 works fine on the 1.6b as well :) I'm not changing them back just in case it stops working. It must have been a loose connections, but I had pulled it all out a checked the continuity twice :!: :?
