Unbelievably someone brought round a Japanese v1.6 for me to fix (how on earth did that end up at Longstanton Spice Museum?) . I've fixed it but can't softmod it because it's region locked and my PAL Splinter Cell won't boot.
Time to fit a modchip to get the exploit sorted out, softmod it, and remove the modchip. Any gotchas?

and its does not have a 100 volt psu? it is unlikely a jap one if it does not have a 100-120v psu.

Yes. Presumably to replace the PSU with a 220-240V version. ...which had failed at the solder joints on the socket - easy fix.professor_jonny wrote:Has it been opened ?
