WOrkgroup is empty. no MSHOME
This been a long battle that I only seen to win for a short time. I just upgrade my network by adding a new router ( ASUS) and LAN to LAN all 3 router. While I was set-up in LAN to WAN everything was find, just was tired not be be able to access some file. So after I reboot all the part. I notice that my XBOX wasn't able to see the MSHOME. to air of the size of caution I rebuild the XP machine network and hit the network. I have Two XP machine and four Win7 on the networks. I can FTP file and movie into it. I did a ping and it pass. Did I do something wrong and I'm just not lucky. I try to stactic IP ( no change) I'm back on auto assign. I have no pressure but my kidsr really want his show

Point all the sub-routers at your gateway WINS server too. That'll help get all the clients on different nodes to see each other.
The setting usually defaults to the local router address if no value is set. Each secondary router should set WINS to the main router (gateway). Consider it the Master WINS server.
If all your nodes are set up properly the WINS server info should be automatically forwarded to every client. This should allow you to go without having to set the WINS server setting in XBMC, for example.
