Hey. I read *most* of this so forgive if I overlooked something.

Your Windows 8 setup - does your administrator account even have a password set?

I know it is common for people to set no password, as it will boot straight to the desktop without it.

Set a password. It really is a smart idea, as it will secure your machine from various forms of potential attack.

You can still make an anonymous login-free share, just you lose the "auto-login" startup.
